Lindsey Wixson Is Wearing Jason Wu To Her Prom
When I was 16, I went to prom. I thought I was so cool because I got to go to prom as a sophomore — an honor usually only reserved for juniors and seniors. I scoured the mall for the perfect prom dress, eventually deciding to splurge on a little black number my mom let me buy at Neimans. Because that’s what life’s like in the suburbs of the Midwest. Not so for Kansas born and bred Lindsey Wixson: Jason Wu is designing a prom dress just for her.
In an interview with Modelinia during Fashion Week, Wixson revealed her desire to wear Wu:
Is a night to prom on the way?
Yeah, hopefully. I hope I don’t miss it.What designer would you love to wear?
Jason Wu. Oh my god, my friends would be like, how much did that cost, what? Like freaking out!Who’s the lucky boy that will take you to prom?
A friend probably. I recently broke up with my boyfriend because he had to move to Colorado, but if everything goes well maybe I can take him.
We can’t imagine Lindsey will have a problem finding a date, and Grazia is reporting that Wu has since granted her wish — she did walk in his resort show, after all. Let’s hope Lindsey’s busy schedule doesn’t get in the way of her prom plans though! The 16-year-old just landed the spring 2011 campaigns for both Marc Jacobs and Mulberry, following a Fashion Week season in which she walked for Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Oscar de la Renta.
