Do You Like The Glass Slippers Louboutin Designed For Cinderella?

Everyone was pretty excited about this whole Christian Louboutin making a Cinderella glass slipper thing, but the final result is not exactly what we’d hoped for.

In honor of Disney‘s release of Cinderella (the Diamond Edition — whatever that means) on Blu-ray, the designer whipped up his own version of the iconic shoe. While we assumed the glass slipper would be glass (or glass-like, at least), Louboutin’s rendition is a 120-millimeter lace peep-toe encrusted with Swarovski crystals. Butterflies are also involved. Louboutin explained: ”Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace, and fairytale love, but also shoes. Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale.”

Whatever, we’re still kind of disappointed. We’re also disappointed that we can’t find the clip starring Louboutin that accompanied the shoe display. As per WWD:

“He plays a romantic, pensive cobbler in a short Disney clip about the making of the shoe, which was also shown as part of the exhibit. In the six-minute film, Louboutin is under a tight deadline to finish Cinderella’s shoe, and as the clock ticks, friendly animals come to help him find inspiration in the dead of night. He finds it when he observes a modern-day Cinderella hard at work, dreaming of a better life.”
