Louis Vuitton Is Getting Into The Fragrance Game With A Fancy Perfumer
Always wanted to smell like Louis Vuitton? Now you’ll finally be able to! Yes, the luxury brand is breaking into the world of fragrance.
According to WWD, Vuitton will begin working with third-generation perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud at the start of next year. Cavallier-Belletrud has worked on Stella by Stella McCartney, Dior Addict, Jean Paul Gaultier Classic, and a slew of other fancypants scents. The celebrated nose won the Prix François Coty Parfumeur in 2004, and “is said to be a specialist in using natural, raw materials”. This apparently matches up with rumors that LV “has recently been investigating rare, almost-extinct flowers in France”. Hmmmm.

We’re not at all surprised the company is getting into the fragrance game, as scents provide brands with a nice chunk-o-change. And for those of you who think LV is late to the perfume party, just remember that everything beyond monogrammed luggage is fairly new to the house — they only debuted ready-to-wear in 1997.
