Louis Vuitton Now Makes Honey (Too Bad You’ll Never Taste It)
Louis Vuitton has added food products to its lengthy list of merch with its first batch of honey. Sweet!
Packaged in a simple jar and cardboard box, it is unassumingly titled La Belle Jardiniere, but closer inspection reveals it’s distinctly LV. The label bears the French fashion house’s signature symbols and reads “Produit a Paris par Louis Vuitton” (produced in Paris by Louis Vuitton) at the bottom.
How did this come to be? In 2009, three beehives were installed on the roof of the company’s Champs-Élysées headquarters in Paris. Now, two years later, the honey is ready to be sampled — but only if you’re buddies with Marc Jacobs! Unfortunately, the product won’t be sold in stores, but instead given to friends of the brand. Sigh.
