It’s A Trend! Vuitton Taps Aging Soccer Stars For New Ads
Like leather shorts, we totally thought old models would be gone before we could make another agist quip. But then those folks over at LVMH have never met a trend they didn’t like — and it seems they haven’t lost their taste for the seasoning. Consider their latest round of salt and pepper-heavy adverts. Lensed by Annie Leibovitz, the new campaign — just in time for the 2010 World Cup — captures soccer greats Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona, and Pele playing a round of foosball at a dusty cafe in Madrid.

Nonetheless, there’s something about three middle-aged guys reliving the good old days — you know those triumphant scores — that makes us say, aww shucks. Now back to those boys in their skivvies.
