The Publicist/Editor Catfight At NYFW Is Now A $1M Legal Battle

Let this be a lesson to all you would-be sucker punchers at New York Fashion Week: don’t sock a publicist at her fashion show and expect her not to hit back.

That’s what Jalouse editor Jennifer Eymere is learning after she slapped HL Group co-founder Lynn Tesoro at the Zac Posen show when she, her mother, and her sister couldn’t get front row seats. No matter that the seating kerfuffle was due to a fire marshal-mandated removal of numerous such spots. According to the Daily News, Tesoro has filed a $1 million lawsuit with the Manhattan Supreme Court against her assailant citing “assault, battery, emotional distress, slander and/or libel.” The latter charge relates to Eymere’s statements to Women’s Wear Daily after the incident:

“I didn’t hurt her, it was just to humiliate her. She humiliated my mom, and I humiliated her in front of her crew. Voilà. I just said at the end, ‘Now you know you don’t f–k with French people.’”

Well, apparently Tesoro does. Although we’ll have to wait to see which side the court takes in this heated little catfight.

This is so embarrassing for all of the women involved and those of us who are on the sidelines. This situation plays right into all of the stereotypes placed on women… especially women in the fashion industry. They should both be sentenced to community service in a women’s shelter… maybe then their self-inflated egos would be brought back down to reality. Shame on them.
