WATCH: Madonna Reveals How She Really Feels About Lady Gaga

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Madonna isn’t exactly Lady Gaga‘s biggest fan, but the politely cagey interview she gave on Friday night’s episode of 20/20 revealed just how little she thinks of the pop star.

When pressed about Gaga’s tendency to reference Madonna’s work, the Material Girl dismissed comparisons by way of a $5 word and a delightfully smirky sip of tea.

Madonna: It feels, uh, reductive.

20/20: Is that good?

Madonna: Look it up.

And in case you were wondering, 20/20 did indeed look it up and determined that it means “simplified, or crude”.

    Reading this blurb, you would almost think Madonna’s music isn’t shallow and childish. At least Gaga writes her own stuff, I don’t think Madonna even writes her own emails much less songs. Even if she did write them, are songs like Material Girl, Vogue, Papa Don’t Preach supposed to be high art? She’s no Carol King, thats for sure.
