PHOTOS: Madonna Lands In Venice Wearing A Butterfly Print Dress

Madonna made her directorial debut in Venice Thursday night with the premiere of her Wallis Simpson biopic, W.E. But while the film stars Andrea Riseborough in the title role, all eyes were on the Material Girl as she floated (almost literally) down the red carpet in a baby blue Vionnet dress covered with red butterflies.

Somewhat inexplicably, Madonna accessorized the dress with a pair of sparkly Miu Miu sunglasses which, though cute, don’t make much sense at night. (Unless you’re Cory Hart.) The dress has divided the Styleite headquarters. I think it’s pretty! And Julia thinks it’s cheesy. What do you think?

Are you sure it’s Vionnet?I was under the impression it’s Miu Miu.And The colour combo of the main dress and the butterflies is hideous.Anything else and it would have been lovely.

Actually… I consider maybe the glasses are a little bit “too much”, BUT still looks like so much fun. She is the queen of pop so… let her be fun. :P

she knows it made an entrance…. adorable. so who cares she was wearing the glasses, this works for her. and i love how she holds them so they are still visible.
