Maria Menounos, Bargain-Bin Devotee?

One would never imagine Extra host Maria Menounos to be a devout Marshalls shopper, but last week, the bubbly brunette confessed just how much she loves finding discounted designer goods at the store. After Menounos presented her favorite spring finds like a lace dress and bright pillow, we caught up with her to chat about — what else? — bargain shopping.

“I grew up with Marshalls, and I think that being fabulous is being savvy,” the Medford, Massachusetts native told us. But being savvy came with a cost: “I didn’t realize that I had a bad credit issue when I was buying my first house. I had a bounced check — from Marshalls! I didn’t even know it, and it was such a small amount of money, too!”

Aside from that little snafu, Menounos and Marshalls are pretty much a match made in heaven. She admits feeling overwhelmed when she first walks into the store (don’t we all?), but she’s got a strategy: first she hits up the Fashion department, then Shoes, and finally Home. “My thing is to exhaust all resources at Marshalls first,” she explains. “If you haven’t found what you really want, then you can start to think, ‘Okay, where am I gonna go to get this?’” We love a lady with designer-style (and, ostensibly, income) who’s down to dig for deals.
