The Just-Released Photos From Marilyn Monroe’s Very First Shoot
The photos from Marilyn Monroe‘s very first shoot are going to auction, and they show the icon in a whole new light.
A fresh-faced (and brunette!) 20-year-old Norma Jeane Dougherty posed for photographer Joseph Jasgur back in 1946. The photos — along with the negatives and signed model release forms — will be auctioned in December by Julien’s Auctions; the proceeds will go towards settling Jasgur’s debts. What makes this such a big deal is that the copyrights are also being sold along with the photos. This means whoever can cough up the dough stands to make a lot more after the fact through distribution fees.
How much will these babies sell for? It’s unclear! The auction house declined to estimate. One thing is for sure though: Monroe looked very, very different in her younger years.
