In the video below, which is a clip from the upcoming documentary about the photographer by Shannah Laumeister, Stern opens up about not having a real plan in mind for Monroe’s shoot inside the Bel Air Hotel. He had laid out scarves and jewelry inside a suite at the hotel, and pretty much let Monroe direct her own photo shoot. The end result is, well, history.
