Girls Will Be Boys: Menswear Makes A Splash On The Red Carpet

From Anne Hathaway ‘s Academy Award tux to fresh-faced Hailee Steinfeld ‘s embellished suit, it seems like women just can’t get enough menswear.
Like any trend, though, there’s the good and the bad — the bad being ill-fitted or too costume-y (see: Kris Jenner and Lisa Kudrow ) and the good being sleek, tailored suits that are both elongating and slimming (see: LeeLee Sobieski and Rihanna ).
Successfully worn lady-suits revolve around defining the waist and lengthening the legs, so if you attempt this trend, tailor, tailor, tailor!
To check out the latest in menswear for women, take a look at the slideshow below. Would you wear it?

In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
1. The Lady-Tux
Who says tuxedos are just for men? The bow-ties, the cinched waists, Anne Hathaway (in Lanvin) and Camille Belle (in Tom Ford) look lady-like in their menswear.
2. The Little White Suit
LBD, move out of the way. Thanks to Rihanna (in BCBG Maz Azria) and LeeLee Sobieski (in Adam Kimmel), the little white suit has arrived!
3. The Suit You Should Leave to the Boys
Skater boys, that is, if your name is Kris Jenner. Lisa Kudrow has a hit-and-a-miss with this slouchy suit.
4. The Monochromatic Suit
Amp up the femininity in your menswear like Cate Blanchett (in Giorgio Armani) and Jessica Biel (in Gucci) by adding color. Remember, just pick one, mild color or you'll look like you belong at a "Dumb and Dumber" costume party.
5. The Creative Suit
Menswear doesn't have to be limited to a blazer and matching trousers, so get creative with menswear-inspired pantsuits like Katie Holmes (in Max Mara) and Jennifer Morrison (in Max Mara).
6. The Double-Take
Suits are so popular these days that celebs are starting to wear the same ones (or at least really, really similar ones). Avoid Mila Kunis (in Boca Negro) and Vanessa Hudgens' (in Mimi Plange) fashion faux pas by making your suit your own with unique styling, embellishments, or color.
7. The Glam Suit
Hailee Steinfeld (in Louis Vuitton) and Kirsten Dunst (in Patrik Ervel) know how to make their suits red-carpet-appropriate -- just add something shiny! The metallic lining and sequins make these suits two of our favorites.
