Michaele Salahi’s Party-Crashing Sari Is Now Up For Auction

Now’s your chance to own a piece of tabloid history. Michaele Salahi, she of White House Party Crashing fame and now The Real Housewives of D.C., is auctioning off the red sari she wore the night she snuck into President Obama’s first State Dinner.
According to TMZ, Salahi is auctioning the dress with The Potomack Company, an “all-female owned auction house.” The dress will go on the block on October 2nd, and while The Potomach Company hasn’t offered an estimate for how much they think the dress will fetch, they claim the Salahis have requested that a portion of the proceeds go to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund.
Considering how special Michaele thinks the sari is, we think it’s pretty safe to say they’ll get less than they expect. She told MoveLine last week that the red sari was the real reason their party crashing became such a media frenzy. “I think it was the red sari [I wore], I really do,” she argued. “I think it was too bright — like if I’d gone with a black or gray [it would have escaped notice], but that red was like, ‘Woo!’”
We think fashion is as influential as the next style blogger, but we’re pretty sure the Salahis’ White House crashing antics made headlines not because of the color of her dress but because they party-crashed the White House.
