In Which We Suggest That Michelle Obama Cut Her Hair Already

Far be it from us to tell First Lady Michelle Obama what to do with her look — clearly, she’s doing just fine on that front all by herself! But we have noticed that she looks really good in a shorter version of the bob she’s currently sporting, which prompts us to ask: Why won’t you just cut your hair, ‘Chelle?

Because it’s summer, and even though Obama always looks about ten degrees cooler than everyone else in the room, snipping a few inches would be a practical way to beat the heat. Plus, it just looks so good. Obama reprised the faux version of the hairstyle yesterday at a panel discussion for her new initiative to help military families, Joining Forces. By our count, she’s done it twice before. In 2009, she pinned back her locks into a rounded shape for the Time 100 gala, then a few months later for a White House celebration of country music — giving everyone and their mother a scare that she’d actually cut her locks, given how good it looked at the gala.
