President Obama gave his speech last night, but as far as we’re concerned, Michelle Obama, her mother Marian Robinson, and his two gorgeous daughters stole the show.

The First Lady watched on warmly in an eggplant-printed dress by up-and-coming designer Laura Smalls, while his mother-in-law opted for a graphic print creation by Chris Benz — who promptly expressed his delight via Twitter.

Fourteen-year-old Malia kept things simple in a cobalt blue dress from H&M (classy!), and 11-year-old Sasha brightened up a grey-and-black printed Anthropology frock with a splashy yellow belt and metallic silver flats.
