PHOTOS: Michelle Obama Sparkles In Custom Ralph Lauren
We’re getting a little tired of fawning over First Lady Michelle Obama and the flawless wardrobe choices she’s made during her trip to Great Britain. Psyche! Can’t stop, won’t stop! Last night, the first couple hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip for a dinner at Winfield House, the official residence of the American Ambassador to the United Kingdom (five points if you can tell us who it is!). And to steer clear of any criticism, the first lady chose some seriously blinged out jewelry and a truly all-American dress from designer Ralph Lauren.
The black off-shoulder dress is a customized version of one that appeared in Lauren’s fall 2011 runway show. The bodice appears to be the same, but the velvet skirt intended for warm weather has been swapped out for a lighter weight fabric. A necklace, ring, and bracelet from Tom Binns (love you, Tom Binns) completes the spectacular look. Check it out below.
P.S. The United States Ambassador to the Court of Saint James (that’s actually what the job is called formally) is Louis Susman. We wonder what he wore?
