Seeing Double: Michelle Obama Recycles Tracy Reese

We know that our fashionable First Lady isn’t lacking for clothes, so why double up on an outfit as recognizable as this Tracy Reese bright blue floral cocktail dress? Michelle wore the dress first while exiting the plane at Benito Juarez International Airport in April, and then again yesterday to a picnic on the White House lawn.

So why are we seeing double? We have a few thoughts. The Shirred Frock in Indigo Placement Floral dress fits Michelle beautifully and the bright blue hue is a nice refreshing summery color. The neckline accentuates her decolletage, and the dress, while definitely distinguishable, is timeless without being bland. Wear it on a plane, wear it to a picnic, wear it to dinner — if you’re going to double up on clothes, we think Michelle did it right.

    Must you ask? When 10% of the country is starving for a job? Really, it’s only proper that the First Lady wear a dress at least twice. And this is not a ball gown.
