PHOTOS: Miley Cyrus Says She’s ‘Not A Ratchet White Girl’, Yet Does This Shoot
We’ve made no secret of our feelings about Miley Cyrus and her new found ratchetness. And while we do sympathize with all the scrutiny she faces, sometimes it seems like she’s just feeding the beast. In a new spread and interview for Notion Magazine, the 20-year-old make an argument for her lifestyle:
“People have this misconception of me that I’m just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I’m just this ratchet white girl, and I’m not.”
We’re not trying to discredit the girl, but as soon as we saw the accompanying editorial, which could easily be frames from her controversial “We Can’t Stop” music video, we can’t help but titter at her comments. If you’re not trying to be ratchet, don’t start dressing like it out of nowhere and star in accompanying spreads in your underwear.
She continues to defend her behavior by essentially saying that she’s trying to avoid an Amanda Bynes situation. And that we can respect.
“That’s why I think some people kind of fall off and they end up going crazy because you don’t give yourself time to go crazy. That’s what you’re supposed to do; you are 20, you are supposed to be a mess because you haven’t figured it out yet, and 10 years from now I am supposed to have it all together.”
We don’t hate Miley at all, but sometimes we just don’t think she knows what she’s saying half the time. So why don’t you let the pictures do the talking, below:
