PHOTOS: Nicola Formichetti’s X-Rated Fanzine (NSFW)
If we were thoroughly nonplussed by the racy video Nicola Formichetti shot to promote the new Mugler men’s collection, we’re even more upset about the fanzine style pamphlet of the same thrust he distributed to the audience at the show. Because Formichetti made a much cooler statement with the zine than he did with six mind-numbingly boring minutes of video, so the fact that it wasn’t the highlight of the whole show package has us questioning the guy’s judgment.
And, you know, as an artist whose main thrust seems to be to challenge the norm, we’re sort of upset that he couldn’t see that his concept of combining porn and fashion would look a lot better in images than it would in live action. Somehow the photos, a few of which you’ll see below, just seem to make more sense. Formichetti is a stylist, after all, and the way he styled these photos is a much more coherent expression of his vision than Branislav Jankcic‘s camera captured on film.
