Guess Who Custom Made Miss Piggy’s Wardrobe For The Muppet Movie?
If you’re reading this on a smartphone, find somewhere to sit down. Because if you’re anything like us, you’re going to be mad when you find out which designers (Yes! Designers! Plural!) made custom clothing for Miss Piggy, who is a puppet, for the upcoming move The Muppets.
Collider reports that Miss Piggy will be one well-dressed swine. Not satisfied to have the movie’s fully functioning costume design department rig up miniature versions of runway outfits, Miss Piggy’s handlers got designer Zac Posen to custom make her a dress for one of the film’s scenes. If that wasn’t over-the-top enough, Christian Louboutin also made Miss Piggy a custom pair of shoes.
Yes. Shoes. By Christian Louboutin. For a felt puppet that doesn’t actually walk. This is so extravagant it hurts.
But that’s not all. In another fashion collaboration that pulls at our envious heartstrings. Kermit The Frog is getting decked out in a bespoke Brooks Brothers suit for a scene in which he walks with Miss Piggy through the streets of Paris. Why they couldn’t get Dior Homme, we will never know.
But we guess that in some way, this makes sense. After all, what big-budget Hollywood movie doesn’t have a hugely impressive wardrobe department? Further, how could anyone — even if they are a puppet — feasibly play a Vogue Paris editor without some seriously dope French shoes?
You can see Piggy’s kicks when the movie hits theaters on November 23. Just make sure you don’t let her hear you making fun of them.
