Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Picks Out Her Clothes
Nancy Pelosi will undoubtedly go down in history for a whole host of achievements: health care reform, being the first female Speaker of the House, and revolutionizing the government’s approach to welfare among them. But according to Rebecca Dana of The Daily Beast, Pelosi should be given equal credit for her “perfect manicure,” “neatly coiffed hair,” and “lovely shoes.” Dana even goes so far as to call Pelosi’s power suits “remarkably on trend.”
So, how does Pelosi come by these sartorial accomplishments? Through her husband, Paul.
In what is an almost invisible sentence, tacked on to a paragraph outlining Pelosi’s grooming routine, Dana adds:
For the most part, her husband, Paul, picks out her clothes.
What?
Yes, the most powerful woman in America leaves her wardrobe stylings up to her husband. I don’t doubt she’s got better things to think about, but it’s fascinating to think that what is an absolutely unfathomable idea for most women — could you imagine? — seems to be an incredibly unimportant one for Pelosi.
