Naomi Campbell Suing The Telegraph Over Elephant Polo Story
Let this be a lesson to us all not to throw around claims of elephant polo tournaments where litigious supermodels are involved.
The Guardian reports that Naomi Campbell is suing the Daily Telegraph for libel after the paper published an article alleging the model was planning an elephant polo tournament. The piece, published November 3, ran under the headline “Elephant polo at Campbell’s party criticised” and stated that she intended the sport to be among the festivities at the lavish birthday party she was throwing for Russian billionaire boyfriend Vladislav Doronin in Jodhpur, India.
A spokeswoman for the model dismissed the called the claims as “completely untrue” and, as an animal rights activists, Campbell is taking even further action. According to the Guardian, she filed a claim with the high court of London December 5 and, per a member of her legal team, intends to pursue the matter until it “is satisfactorily resolved.”
