Natalia Vodianova Cast In Second Feature Film!
It’s hard not to wish good things for Natalia Vodianova, and they just keep coming to her in droves. The model and mother of three had a whirlwind summer, landing a Peter Lindbergh spread in American Vogue, covering Russian and Korean Vogue, and starring in a roundly lauded ad campaign for Louis Vuitton. What better way to put absurdly delicious icing on the cake that is Vodianova’s life than by starring in a second feature film?
Deadline reported late last week that Vodianova would star opposite Johnathan Rhys Meyers in Belle du Seigneur, an adaptation of a late ’60s novel of the same name from writer Albert Cohen. Remember, now, she cut her acting teeth as Medusa in Clash of the Titans. In this movie, Vodianova will play a WWII-era married Swiss woman who falls in love with a Jewish soldier (that’s Meyers). Our French is rusty, but we think the title means something like “Good Lord.” But don’t worry — it’s an English adaptation, so nothing will be lost in translation. We’re already betting, that this film is going to be filled with a whole lot of pretty.
The movie will be filmed on location in Geneva and in Italy starting in late October (perhaps to make time to see Vodianova on the runway during Fashion Week?) It’s set to debut in 2011.
