All The Details About Natalie Portman’s Wedding Day, Including The Dress!
Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied finally exchanged vows in California this weekend, but the most important question on our minds was: who designed the dress? There was speculation that the 31-year-old actress would don a Christian Dior creation, but we scoffed at such a thought considering she hasn’t worn the brand since she slammed John Galliano for his anti-Semitic remarks last year. We figured Portman would wear one of her favorite brands Rodarte, and as it turns out, we were right.
Designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy created a white a-line frock that ended mid-calf, and had long sleeves, per Jewish wedding tradition. She finished her look with a veil, floral crown, and off-white shoes. Around 100 guests, including Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Macaulay Culkin attended the ceremony.
Portman is Jewish and Millepied is French, so the ceremony was a mash-up of both cultures. The two exchanged vows under a canopied chuppah, and wrapped in Jewish prayer shawls. Macarons took the place of a traditional wedding cake, and everything was vegan per Portman’s strict diet. The ceremony ended around 2 a.m, and guests left with packets of wildflower seeds inscribed with the word “Merci”.
Most ladies wouldn’t be able to pull off a tea length dress without looking a little frumpy, but we think Portman nailed the look. Head on over to People for your first look at Portman’s Rodarte wedding dress.
