Nicholas Kirkwood Slams Kate Middleton For Not Being ‘Princess-y’ Enough

Not everyone adores Kate Middleton‘s regular-person style and penchant for repeating outfits as much we do. Case in point: Nicolas Kirkwood.

The British shoe designer is known for his avant garde creations beloved by Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyoncé. Middleton, on the other hand, is known for championing high-street brands and wearing sensible heels. And in a wide-ranging interview with The Daily Beast, Kirkwood slammed Middleton for being too “democratic”:

“It’d be great if she did wear [my] shoes. She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she’s trying to be democratic, but I don’t know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear. She does occasionally come out and is wearing [Alexander] McQueen or something like that. It’s like, ‘Do that more! You’re meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!’”

For what it’s worth, we think Kate is just princess-y enough for our tastes. But what about yours?

“You’re meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!’” — So being a princess means buying outlandish shoes?! That’s news to me. Perhaps Mr. Kirkwood could enlighten me then …. exactly which real-world princess actually purchases his shoes?

I guess Princess-y would mean being a walking billboard for his product?  What a douch!

I think if I were in kates place, I would wear more custom made coture type clothing, and only about 40% Highstreet clothing. She can wear whatever she wants so why not do so? She needs more diamond and platinum, jewelry to accent clothing especially that long green emerald dress.  It was crying, I need a diamond pendant or ermerald pendant to wear with this, with pearls as diana used to do.  Heavens, jewelry well make much more of a dynamite effect on Kate than Camilla.
