Nicki Minaj Is Actively Trying To Land Herself A Vogue Cover

Well, people, it’s happening. A New York Times article analyzing the outrageous and often visually arresting style of rapper Nicki Minaj confirms that the artist is doing pretty much everything in her power to get herself on the cover of the fashion world’s bible, Vogue.

Of course it’s no surprise that Minaj has that goal in her future plans — she was seen sitting next to Anna Wintour, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, during the spring runway shows in September, and she’s performed at a slew of fashion world events over the past year. She headlined the Christie’s Green Auction (co-hosted by Vogue) in March, and performed at the Versace for H&M show and at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in November — and it turns out she wasn’t even supposed to perform for the Angels.

Victoria’s Secret came back to her after Cee Lo Green unexpectedly dropped out of its fashion show. Cortez Bryant (her publicist) said he and his team jumped. “Our jobs as managers is to capitalize on these opportunities,” he said.

And capitalizing is exactly what they’re doing. Bryant says he and Minaj are both working on making a Vogue cover happen.

The cover of Vogue, already occupied by Lady Gaga, has not yet been attained. But Mr. Bryant said Ms. Minaj is in talks with the magazine.

“That’s on my wish list,” he said with a laugh. “I hope. I hope.”

If they’re so determined, it’s probably going to happen at one point or another. Which just leaves one question: What’s Nicki gonna wear?

She totally deserves a Vogue cover!

If, Gaga had the cover, why not Nicki? They are both outrageous music personalities.
“Good luck” is right though. Getting any black face, let alone models Chanel Iman or Jourdan Dunn or Arlenis Sosa, is a feat.
Bring back the supermodels! This is VOGUE, not People magazine, people!
