PHOTOS: Kim And Anne Are November’s Cover Queens
by Verena von Pfetten | 12:57 pm, October 18th, 2010
Almost all of the November covers are out by now and, with the exception of Anne Hathaway’s gloriously red cover for Vogue , they all feel, well, kinda summery. But let’s take a closer look, shall we?

1. Anne Hathaway - Vogue, November 2010
Anne Hathaway's Vogue cover might be our favorite, only because it's the least awkward Vogue cover we've seen in a while, and it looks so deliciously and luxuriously like fall -- which most of the other November covers decidedly do not. Refinery29 thinks Ms. Hathaway looks eerily like Eva Mendes in this cover, but apart from the unfortunate tagline below her name, we just think she looks awesome.
2. Kim Kardashian - W, November 2010
We've made no secret of our flat out love for Kim Kardashian's Barbara Kruger cover for W . Critics lament the fact that a reality star famous for having a sex tape is on the cover of an 'Art' issue, but we think the cover is less about Kim Kardashian than the reader's relationship with Kim Kardashian The Celebrity.
3. Rachel McAdams - InStyle, November 2010
Where has Rachel McAdams been?! Her last mag cover was Vogue's January 2010 and that's a shame. Good for InStyle for booking McAdams -- we're pretty sure she's Hollywood's most likeable celebrity -- and considering she's got a new movie coming out in November with Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton, we suspect this cover will sell very well. Though we're not sure pink would have been our first color choice.
4. Gwyneth Paltrow - Elle, November 2010
Elle opted for three separate covers for their annual Women In Hollywood issue, our favorite of which is Gwyneth Paltrow. We suspect her cover may come out on top, only because everyone knows Paltrow makes for great pull quotes. Also, the cover looks clean and crisp -- just like a nice November day.
5. Kate Hudson - Elle, November 2010
Kade Hudson's cover for Elle , however, looks like it should be meant for March or May. What is she doing wearing a Marc Jacobs resort dress in November? Oh well, Hudson has that sunny California thing going for her, so maybe they didn't want to mess with it.
6. Hilary Swank - Elle, November 2010
Hilary Swank's cover is a tough one. Literally. There's something a little hard and flat about it, though Ms. Swank certainly looks good and we're big fans of the winter white.
7. Victoria Beckham - Marie Claire, November 2010
We're love, love, loving Victoria Beckham's fierce photo for Marie Claire, but the cover lines leave a little something to be desired. The pink and black combo is obviously right up our alley, as is the slanted scrawl, but the minimalism of the cover has us wondering if the content isn't a bit thin.
8. Taylor Swift - Glamour, November 2010
Glamour continues its slow but inexorable takeover of the 16-24 age group with their November cover. Besides the obvious pull that is the ever-loveable Ms. Swift, the cover lines skew more than a little young with words like "Cute," "Acne," and a headline extolling their guide to the male body. But who are we kidding? We'd totally buy it.
9. Lauren Conrad - Teen Vogue, November 2010
How can a mag go wrong with Lauren Conrad? The answer: they can't. Conrad's May cover for Glamour was a sales success and we suspect she'll do just as well for Teen Vogue . The colors are great (if certainly spring-y), but cool enough that they don't look strange on a November cover. Conrad, however, would have benefitted from a little less airbrushing; her face looks like it's made of plastic. That said, the photos inside are adorable.
10. Katy Perry - Cosmo, November 2010
Katy Perry feels like a good fit for Cosmo . She's young, pretty, and playful, and makes for a great interview subject. We're loving the raspberry background and think Perry's hair against the robin's egg blue title packs an eye-catching punch. Finally, "First, Take Off His Pants" makes for a nice break from the usual "978 Ways To Pleasure Your Man" cover line.
