Guess How Much Anna Wintour Is Charging For Her Next Obama Dinner

Looks like President Obama is coming back to the city for yet another fashion-forward fundraising dinner. Word has it that Harvey Weinstein (the guy who just gave up his stake in Halston), his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, and Anna Wintour are hosting a few members of the industry elite at the Weinstein’s West Village home next week. And you’ll never guess how much those people are paying for a chance to dine with the president.

According to Page Six, Weinstein is charging each couple that comes to the “small dinner and discussion” on Aug. 11 $71,600. That’s $35,800 per person. For just slightly less than a year’s worth of fun at one of the nation’s top-flight universities, people like Tory Burch will get the opportunity to tell the president what they think about the debt ceiling debates and the capital gains tax.

But don’t fret, they can afford it — and so can Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, Alicia Keys and Quentin Tarantino. Madonna was supposed to go, too, but she can’t make it because of a personal commitment.

Of course last year, when Wintour hosted the president at her Greenwich Village home, we abandoned all of our personal commitments and stood across the street to live blog the president’s arrival. Then again, she only charged $30,400 a head at that dinner, which sat 50 people.

Page Six notes that $5,000 of each ticket will go to the Obama Victory Fund, and the rest will go to the Democratic National Convention. Is it fashionable to support our current commander in chief? Well, we guess it sort of has to be.

What a show. The country is going to hell in a handbasket, we have just been downgraded by S & P, and Bama is charging $71,000 per couple so that he can increase his campaign war chest.  yep that guy sure has his priorities straight.  Not.

Just like Clinton inherited the benefits from Bush 1′s tax increase and took the credit for the good economy Bush 1 set up. No matter WHO threw the party it’s pretty lame to charge that kind of money and leave the little people out of it. I mean c’mon. You complain about tax cuts for the rich and their private jets etc yet Obama is hanging out with that same exact people. Wake up America.
