WATCH: The Fab Five Are Stephen Colbert’s Newest Interns

Last night, the Fab Five made their latest television appearance. And as much as we’ve enjoyed watching them be all cute and bubbly during interviews, their latest appearance on The Colbert Report is the best and funniest one so far.

Last Friday, Stephen Colbert hosted StePhest Colbchella ’012: RocktAugustFest, a concert at the New York Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. He interviewed one performer every night this week on his show, and last night, he spoke with Santigold. Of course, the humble host gave a shout-out to his current summer interns for their hard work, welcomed a new batch of interns, and then requested a pen. His dutiful “new interns” promptly brought him a pen in the most creative of ways. You can probably see where this is going.

Enter Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, McKayla Maroney, and Jordyn Weiber, who did front flips, back flips, and handstands to bring the pen from the side of the stage to Colbert’s desk. And yes, Maroney did her not impressed face — it really doesn’t get old.

Last night, she stepped out for the inscrutably named Escape to Total Rewards
event in New York in a see-through barely-black dress, the back of
which featured lace paneling and the front of which appeared to be
covered with a froth of ruffled ivory fabric.
