Opening Ceremony Curates An In-Store Rihanna Exhibit

Starting Tuesday, New York City’s Opening Ceremony will start selling Rihanna‘s River Island collection, and to kick things off, the retailer curated seven of her most famous ensembles for a “RIHtrospective”.

Shoppers can browse through the collection’s offerings — bodycon dresses and midriffs galore — at the Opening Ceremony store in Soho. Or they can just save their money, and check out the seven-piece exhibit which will be showcased at the store for three weeks.

The number seven has major significance in Rihanna’s career, and represents a whole slew of things, like the number of Grammy and Billboard awards she’s won, the number of Complex magazine covers, and of course, the infamous 777 tour to promote her seventh album “Unapologetic”. The ensembles for “RIHtrospective” consist of stage and red carpet looks that she, along with her stylist, picked out.

Considering we’re only a few blocks away, we’ll check it out, but we’re definitely not expecting a mini-Met exhibit that’s for sure.
