WATCH: Oscar de la Renta Discusses How Women Have Changed

If there’s one man in fashion who knows what women want, it’s Oscar de la Renta. The designer has been making clothing for women for almost 40 years, and he says in that time his clients have changed. A lot.

Just before his spring 2012 presentation, De la Renta sat down with Erika Bearman, who’s better known as OscarPRGirl. De la Renta says the woman he’s talking to knows exactly who she is. “It’s extraordinary what has happened to women in the last 30 or 40 years,” he said. “We are addressing such a different consumer. Tdday we are addressing a woman who is in control of her own destiny.”
