PHOTO: Did Maybelline Rip Off Moustache Man’s Artwork, Too?

Just a few days ago, we wrote about graffiti artist Patrick Waldo, a.k.a Moustache Man, possibly getting ripped off by Zara. And now, it seems that it’s happened again, but this time the offender is Maybelline.

Waldo’s signature graffiti art is drawing the word “moustache” across people’s upper lips in advertising campaigns. Yesterday, he sent out the following tweet, claiming that Maybelline stole his idea when they wrote “eyeliner” across a model’s eye:

Maybelline hasn’t yet responded to the accusation. What they did definitely seems questionable to us. We think Maybelline probably was “inspired by” him and clearly took his idea — and thus he has every right to be frustrated — but that said, we doubt that he could actually have a copyright infringement case. Does this look like copyright infringement to you?
