PETA Is Pissed About Alessandra Ambrosio’s Dip-Dyed Dog

Alessandra Ambrosio dyed her puppy’s fur, and PETA is pissed.

The Victoria’s Secret hottie and new mom, 31, was spotted in strolling in Malibu with fiancé Jamie Mazur and her bichon-frise, whom she recently dyed 50 shades of purple and pink. The previously-white dog now sports purple ears and a pink body. Obviously, this didn’t rub PETA the right way, and the animal right group released a statement:

“What most people don’t know is that dyeing a companion animal’s fur can cause the animal stress and can lead to complications or allergic reactions that endanger the animal’s health. Our dogs and cats love us regardless of how we look; why not extend the same kindness to them?”

Most dog-friendly hair dyes are specially treated to be as mild as possible, but dying a pet’s hair for the sake of fashion seems a little unnecessarily frivolous to us.

See a close-up of the dog below, and tell us your thoughts:

Having a dog as a fashion item is ridiculous in the first place.

I really don’t think it’s a big deal. People dye their hair with chemicals all the time and the dye they use on Animals has no chemicals. I’ve never done it to my pets but from what I’ve seen and heard it’s just like food coloring and it will wash out after a few baths so how is it hurting or even stressing the dog. It’s like giving them a bath which isn’t stressful. If it had chemicals then I’d agree that it shouldn’t be done.

She’s using the dog as a look-at-me accessory. It’s wrong.

  • OH MY G-D

…but did you read what PETA wrote–hello!!!  Please don’t do this sick thing..sounds like youre next,, just like a bath ahahahahahha  okay

  • Oh my G-d !!

Sara, the majority of “natural” hair dye products for pets have a warning, not to let your pet lick his fur until it is completely dry. If your pet does lick his fur, his mouth must be rinsed with water for a minimum of 15 minutes, then consult your vet if necessary.
Both my veterinarian clinic & animal hospital have warnings against using pet dye, & pet nail polish, as the side effects of ingesting both, can be quite harmful to some pets.

I’d like to think vets & animal surgeons know more about the effects of hair dye on dogs & cats, than pet groomers who’s main interest above all, is to make money.

I don’t see the harm in dying your pet with pet safe dyes, but that being said I’ve never seen it look anything but tacky and just bad. I don’t really see the point, but it hardly would traumatize a dog

Ridiculous complaint from PETA since they euthanize 97 % of the companion animals surrendered to them. In 2006 alone, the Norfolk based PETA agency took in 3,061 amimals surrendered to them and put to death 2,981. No remorse from them. Simply stating they are not a pet adoption organization. While admitting they could become a
no kill organization, it’s simply cheaper to kill them than to feed them. Those are the facts. Don’t believe it look it up for yourself on line. PETA kills pets by the thousands and complains when a dog that probably lives better than a lot of poor people gets a
dye job! It is PETA that is unethical in it treatment of animals. Don’t waste your money
sending it to PETA send it to your local no kill shelter, and never surrender a pet to PETA it will mean its death.

PETA, for the most part, is a group of functioning morons.  HOWEVER, they were right to be upset about this VS model’s choice to dye her dog!  Dye isn’t healthy for humans, but it is our right to dye our hair, should we choose such a beauty ‘enhancement.’  A canine’s body, however, cannot handle the chemicals used in the dye, and this is a case of animal cruelty/abuse.  She should be fined and the dog be rehomed.  This is pathetic and sad to see an adult in the public eye behave so stupidly, potentially inspiring our youth to do something equally cruel, thinking that it’s a cool thing to do.  Dogs bodies cannot tolerate natural substances, such as grapes, garlic, or cocoa; what on earth would make her think she/he could handle dye?!

PETA are fools, they pick up on the most ridiculous news stories when they should be taking time to focus on more important factors. Her dog looks awesome
