Seymour’s Son Responds To Beach Photo Controversy

Last week when we published those photos of Peter Brant II getting uncomfortably close with his mom Stephanie Seymour on the beach, we were really eager to hear what he or his family would have to say about the matter. Today, we got just that.

Brant, a high school senior, wrote a statement to Gawker, which essentially calls that site (and others that published the pictures) gross for taking advantage of a mother-son moment of intimacy for pageviews and shock value. He also pointed out that his relationship with his mother would never go down the incestuous path some suggested it might because he says 1) it’s gross and 2) he’s openly gay. Below, the tongue (or keyboard?) lashing in full:

I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context, my mother and i are very close as she is with all her children. she often hugs and kisses me and my siblings in an manner that is intimate, any mother in the world does the same. that day on the beach we walked around with each other completely aware of the presence of photographers there. We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay. At my age my mother and I are almost like friends and I feel open to talk to her about anything (and yes our relationship may be different because of my sexuality).

Photographers are more often than not obvious when they are there (If holding a large camera wasnt enough of a giveaway) We just accept that they exist and try to ignore them. We learn to accept that these photos may appear in the media but we do not appreciate speculation on our personal lives and any other hateful uninhibited opinions.

Well. Glad we got that cleared up!

WHY does everyone have to be under a microscope??? Truth be known most of these reporters are freakin’ perverts- and they seem to get off on staking family on vacation. If they had more clothes on (remember they are enjoying a vacation at the beach, or WERE enjoying) this would probably not have even been brought up or thought as odd to anyone. I am just glad that I am not “famous”. It makes me wanna barf every time I see crap like this. No one can have a life anymore due to the freakin’ leach paparazzi.
