Philip Treacy Makes Stylish, $2,425 Christmas Crackers

Philip Treacy, designer of the crazy fascinators favored by British royals, is going to make this one fancy Christmas with a new batch of limited-edition poppers for British luxury goods brand Asprey in collaboration with David Bartlett. Each will contain (what else?) a pop-up hat designed by Treacy himself, and will go for the cool price of £1,500 or $2,425.
In addition to the main attraction — the hat — each popper holds a silver thimble signed by Treacy, a joke written by comedian David Williams, and lots of psychedelic confetti. As for how exactly a hat can come out of a popper, Telegraph explains, “Inside the faceted silver paper cracker the hat is folded into a bundle held together with ribbon. Once this is untied, a clever mechanism designed by Bartlett allows the hat to automatically pop up into the form of a pile of toppling hatboxes.” And the most exciting part? One lucky winner will find a ticket for a custom-made topper. But only 80 of these precious poppers were made, so if you have a $2,425 lying around and want a chance to win a bespoke creation by Treacy, get ‘em before they’re gone!
