Lady Gaga Opens Philip Treacy’s First Runway Show Wearing McQueen
During Treacy’s rehearsal before the show, Gaga wore a flower helmet creation and a dark green velvet Alexander McQueen dress. Because how else can you watch a fashion show rehearsal? The singer then changed into an oversized hot pink veil (which once belonged to the late Isabella Blow, and looks similar to this one from Carine Roitfeld‘s CR Book), printed leggings, and vertiginous platform lace-ups to open Treacy’s Michael Jackson-themed show. She stood on the runway, raised her arms, and announced: “Ladies and gentlemen, the greatest milliner in the world, Philip Treacy.”
Models decked out in fantastical chapeaus and 37 iconic Michael Jackson pieces from the Los Angeles-based Julian’s Auction House strutted down the runway. The jacket from “Beat It”, a gold lame bodysuit, and a loose white blazer with black armband were paired with imaginative and fun hats — a classic yellow smiley face, a golden sun with radial spokes, a bold red spiral creation, and a circus-themed chapeau complete with a Ferris wheel and carousel.
