Pippa Middleton Talks About Willow Bats And Sips Tea For Vanity Fair
You know we’re already crazy-excited about this year’s September issues, and now we’ve got a new reason. For Vanity Fair‘s September issue, Pippa Middleton has penned a second installment in her role as “Contributing Editor” to the magazine. In this “Letter From England,” Pippa attempts to explain the British game of cricket to the confused American readers.
She shares her personal relationship with the game, with sentiments such as this:
“As a former member of the cricket Wᴀɢs (wives and girlfriends of players), I have many happy memories of afternoons spent lying on the grass and hearing the satisfying clunk of leather ball on willow bat.”
She also delves into the game’s history, lingo, and comforts readers that it’s okay not to understand, as long as you “take pleasure in the visual spectacle.”
Speaking of visual spectacles, the article also includes some lovely images of the younger Middleton looking extremely British playing cricket and sipping tea. She looks even better than she did at Wimbledon.
