Pippa Middleton Is Tatler‘s August Cover Girl
While Kate Middleton is dazzling Canadians on the royal tour, England is still going gaga over her sister, Pippa. The duchess’s younger sibling snagged the august cover of U.K. magazine Tatler.
The cover features a black and white photo of Pippa snapped at the royal wedding, flashing her famous smile. Her face is surrounded by dozens of colorful flowers and the title reads “Pippa: The Bottom Line”, and obvious reference to her now famous assets.
The cover article does not feature an interview but rather dissects the world’s recent obsession with Pippa. Author Annabel Rivken writes, “Pippa seems almost to have become the whole point of the most recent royal wedding.”
Rivkin praises Kate but believes she will fade into the background while Pippa is in the spotlight to stay. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are jolly and popular; the consensus seems to be that William has chosen wisely and that Kate is a solid, grounded middle-class soul who will inject some focus into a royal family battered by its own human frailty,” Rivkin says. “But while Kate and William bounce off to Wales, where he can be a helicopter rescue pilot and she can be a housewife, Pippa…has gone global.”
Kate was Tatler‘s February cover girl , now Pippa graces the cover; we’re just waiting for new ‘it’ boy and youngest Middleton sibling James to get his Tatlerfeature. The magazine was at the forefront of the Pippa phenomenon all the way back in 2008 when they named the event planner society’s no. 1 singleton.
And, now that we know the whole Pippa and Prince Harry thing isn’t happening, the cover article features a list of men the royal in-law should consider. The prospective suitors include Pierre Sarkozy, the French President’s son; Pippa’s on-again, off-again flame Alex Loudon; American legacy Robert Kennedy III; and singer James Blunt, who Pippa beat out for her singleton of the year award in 2008.
