PHOTOS: Royal Birthday Redux, Church Attire Edition
Yesterday the royal family celebrated Queen Elizabeth II‘s 85th birthday with a fancy procession at Buckingham Palace. Today they celebrated Prince Philip‘s 90th birthday with a church service and reception at Windsor Castle. This was certainly not as fancy, but a church service means church hats!
This time around, Kate didn’t carry her own umbrella. Instead, the Duchess of Cambridge let Prince William do the holding — and it was kind of sweet! Kate wore an outfit that we can only describe as supremely British; it included a blue brocade jacket and coordinating fascinator. The Queen’s ensemble wasn’t all that different from what she wore yesterday, and the men opted for smart suits.
But if we had to award a best dressed medal, we would definitely bestow it upon Reverend David Conner. He is the Dean of Windsor, and he wore a truly fabulous robe. Just look at him!
