Congratulations To Kate & Prince William, Parents To A New Baby…Penguin

With all of the royal wedding hullabaloo finally winding down, you know everyone will be freaking out about pregnancy rumors in a matter of months. It’s our (totally unfounded) opinion that Kate and Prince William will wait a few years to start popping out heirs, but they have recently become parents. A baby Humbolt penguin named Acorn can officially call the couple mum and pop.

The pair adopted the endangered penguin from the Chester Zoo (one of Britain’s largest, FYI), who gifted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with the penguin as a wedding present. The zoo had its “followers on social networking sites” choose what animal the couple would receive. We think Acorn was an excellent choice, voters! Also, though it may seem confusing that a penguin (and not a squirrel) is named Acorn, remember that acorns are a part of the new Middleton family crest — they adorned both Kate’s ears and the cake at the wedding.
