VIDEO: This New Project Runway Contestant Once Starred In A Sex Tape
Every Project Runway designer brings a little something different to the table. In the case of season nine contestant Anya Ayoung Chee, that thing is a grainy video of her having sex with her boyfriend and another lady.
Ayoung Chee, who won the coveted title of Miss Trinidad and Tobago in 2008, appeared in a video with her then-boyfriend, photographer Wyatt Gallery, and a friend who was initially believed to be Miss Japan 2008 Hiroko Mima. It was later revealed that the second woman was not Mima, just someone Ayoung Chee was very, very close with.
Gallery told TMZ that the video was stolen from his computer and that he felt “horrible and embarrassed for Anya, her family and myself,” and that the theft “was an intentional, malicious sabotage against Anya and her career.”
But, like, is it? We’re not saying that having a sex tape will give you a competitive edge as a fashion designer. If that were the case, Kim Kardashian would have already replaced John Galliano at Dior. (We’ll take this opportunity to remind you that in reality, she’s going to hawk the Kardashian Kollection for reasonable prices at Sears.)
Appearing in homemade smut is, however, indicative that you might be somewhat extroverted, and perhaps even forthright. If that’s true of Ayoung Chee, the producers might recommend that the judges keep her on the show. Can you imagine a better ratings boon than having an amateur porn star in the top three? We cannot.
