Rock N’ Roll Royal Queen Elizabeth Gets Bowie-fied By Banksy

It looks like even Banksy is getting in on the Diamond Jubilee celebrations! An image of Queen Elizabeth II done up in full David Bowie “Aladdin Sane” face paint appeared on a wall in Bristol earlier this week, allegedly the work of the notorious street artist. The same spot has previously held two other Banksy stencils, but neither quite as festive as the latest installment.

Who knew the Queen could pull off Bowie’s look so skillfully? She has been getting a little wild with her style lately (gold! ruffles! embellishments!) and, let’s be real, we’ve never doubted that Liz was a rock n’ roll royal at heart. Now she has the lightning bolt and a tribute of questionable legality to prove it!

On another note, it might be a little inside but wouldn’t this make a great costume? You’d get to wear a crown AND rock sweet face paint. Jubilee theme party anyone? We’ll bring the Pimm’s.

    He’s left a few great calling cards here in MI.  One, a rat/mouse was painted on the door of a factory and the guys at the shop painted over it. How he ever did it without being seen is a mystery as it was facing a busy street.
