Sales For Queen Elizabeth’s Favorite Handbag Jump 58 Percent
Kate Middleton is not the only royal who can make things sell like hot cakes. After Queen Elizabeth II stepped out for her Diamond Jubilee carrying her favorite Launer London handbag, the brand’s sales rose a whopping 58 percent and their site crashed due to the insane amount of visitors.
And this isn’t the first time Launer’s sales have skyrocketed thanks to Her Majesty. After Kate and Will’s wedding, they increased 60 percent. The queen prefers black and other neutral colors, but according to the Telegraph, Launer Managing Director and Creative Director Gerald Bodmer noted that other customers have been reaching for more fashion-forward colors, such as pastels and metallics. The bags are all handmade, and the type of craftsmanship the queen favors doesn’t come cheap — these babies sell for between £477 and £6000, or $744-$9,359.
