When Favorite Things Collide: There Is A Queen Elizabeth Pantone Guide
Everyone knows that Queen Elizabeth is a total fashion plate — even the folks at Pantone.
Along with ad agency Leo Burnett, Pantone’s color masters have created a special Diamond Jubilee color (well, colour) guide paying homage to Liz’s exceptional color (colour!) coordination.
To mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, this bespoke, limited-edition, numbered color guide is designed to capture and commemorate some of the Queen’s most memorable color choices since her coronation – featuring Pantone Color references and citing the date and location that determined her outfit color choice.
And in case you aren’t convinced that said coordination is important, just listen to Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman:
“The Queen’s decision to favor one color in every outfit is a strong style statement. Monochromatic color schemes make the wearer appear taller, delivering a more stately air – perfect given that Queen Elizabeth is not tall at 5’4’”. Choosing one color theme also ensures the outfit does not detract attention from the wearer – which is particularly important if you’re the Queen.”
Some of Liz’s fave colors to wear include Primrose Yellow, Crystal Blue, Pink Carnation, and Ice Green. We must own this:
And if you’re in need of some more QE2 style to help you gear up for the impending Diamond Jubilee weekend, allow us to direct you to Women’s Wear Daily, the New York Times, and Vanity Fair. Liz forever and ever!
