PHOTOS: Queen Elizabeth Shows Off Her Red Carpet Style

We all know how fond Queen Elizabeth is of matching her clothing to her accessories. And, of course, how very skillful she is at doing so.

Last night, however, she took it one step further on the red carpet at a gala performance of “Our Extraordinary World” at the Royal Opera House, opting for a silvery gown in the same precise shade as her gleaming locks. The bodice and sleeves were appliquéd with pearly white flowers and, as always she had some harmonious accessories to complete the look. The Queen sported white opera gloves (they were at the opera, after all), a three-stranded pearl necklace, a pair of ruby earrings, two diamond bracelets, silver pumps, and a bejeweled satin evening bag. Finally, she had in tow her very handsome date Prince Philip.

Oh Liz, you party girl you! It’s pretty clear now which royal inspired Essie‘s shimmering new “Leading Lady” nailpolish that currently graces our tips — and it’s definitely not Kate Middleton.
