Queen Calls Royal Wedding Dress Exhibit ‘Horrid’ And ‘Creepy’

Quality time with one’s grandmother in law is never exactly a walk in the park, but when your grandmother in law is the Queen of England, it’s a veritable Himalayan trek. The Duchess of Cambridge and Queen Elizabeth II took in a private tour of Buckingham Palace’s royal wedding exhibition this morning, and it turns out the latter wasn’t exactly enamored by the set up.

The Telegraph reports:

The monarch led the way and, with her hands clasped behind her back, strode into the Ballroom and stopped about 10 feet from the dress with Kate standing beside her.

As the pair chatted, the pitch of the Queen’s voice raised and she said ”horrible” and then ”horrid”.

It appeared the mannequin’s lack of a head may have perturbed the Queen, who added: ”It’s made to look very creepy.”

Kate apparently had the cojones to counter the Queen’s opinion, arguing that it created a ”3D effect”. And because the only thing funnier than that story is that story told in pictures, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together an illustrative gallery.

Enjoy!

Just saw the report on CNN and I agree with her Majesty it does look kind of creepy the way it is displayed.  Kind of puts on in mind of Miss Havisham from Dicken’s Great Expectations or the movie Lady in White.
