Rachel Maddow Reports On Italian Army’s Armani Outfits
On the latest segment of Maddow’s stint in Afghanistan, the journalist test drove an artillery weapon with the help of an Italian NATO soldier. While we were amused by Maddow’s timid attempts to fire a high-powered gun, it was her fashion discovery that had us jumping out of our seats: as modeled by the assisting soldier, the Italian army uniforms are designed by none other than Giorgio Armani.
Stunned, we tried to find some sources to back this statement. While our findings were limited, Businessweek reported that in 1994, Armani was called in to “widen the shoulders” and “lower the front button” of the olive-green army jacket. With that said, we feel decidedly okay taking Maddow’s word for it.
