Ralph Lauren Promises 2014 Olympic Uniforms Will Be Made In U.S.

After quite the uproar over the revelation that Ralph Lauren is manufacturing the 2012 U.S. Olympic team’s uniforms in China, the brand has released a double whammy statement not only announcing that it is the “Official Outfitter” of the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic teams, but also promising that the uniforms will be  100% manufactured in the good ole’ U.S. of A.

Ralph Lauren promises to lead the conversation within our industry and our government addressing the issue of increasing manufacturing in the United States,” the statement says. “…and has committed to producing the Opening and Closing ceremony Team USA uniforms in the United States that will be worn for the 2014 Olympic Games.”

Nothing like a progressive public relations crisis management move. Perhaps our pals at Fox News will take a chill pill now, though it seems highly unlikely.

  • Psst

Interesting that the polo pony is actually larger than the US Olympic seal.
