Last night, Penelope Cruz, Anja Rubik, and Ricky and Ralph Lauren attended a screening of Woody Allen‘s To Rome With Love in New York, while Kristin Davis, Olivia Munn, and Jane Fonda walked the red carpet for the premiere of HBO‘s new series The Newsroom in Los Angeles. Which coast had better fashion?
First off, we loved Cruz’s off-the-shoulder Emilio Pucci look. The lace overlay was demure, but the sleeves added a hint of sexiness. Conversely, Ralph and Ricky looked like modern-day cowboys in coordinating outfits. The designer wore cowboy boots and distressed denim, while his wife went with a crisp button-down and patterned jacket — and they wore similar belts, aww! Rubik, who wore a super revealing dress at the Met Gala, decided to cover up her bod with a nude pleated gown. She looked effortless and summery. (We definitely prefer her dressing like this more often.)
Over on the west coast, Davis provided an awesome pop of color in a turquoise frock and lavender heels. Munn, however, looked boring in a white one-shoulder dress that reminds us of a sad bridesmaid’s gown. And while we wanted to love Fonda’s ensemble, we just didn’t. The pants aren’t flattering, and the gold moto jacket and matching accessories are hideous. Why, Jane, why?
Okay, take a look below and tell us who you think won this battle of the coasts:
