We’ve been chronicling Rihanna‘s odd outfits for some time now, and decided we needed a little historical context. A look through the Rihanna fashion archives provided a startling realization: she used to only wear outfits that bared her midriff. And we do mean only.

It doesn’t matter if she was on the red carpet or on stage (even on a tennis court!) — for a stretch of time circa 2005/2006, she always had some tummy showing. Call it the Britney Spears Effect, if you wish. All we know is the girl was really into her midriff for a while.
